Casual Municipal By-Law Enforcement Officer (MBLEO)
The Town of Rainy River is seeking a Casual Municipal By-Law Enforcement Officer (MBLEO) to assist with the enforcement of municipal by-laws on an as-needed basis.
About the Role
Reporting to the CAO/Clerk, the MBLEO is responsible for:
- Investigating complaints regarding municipal by-laws (e.g., parking, property standards, animal control, etc.).
- Educating residents on by-law requirements and promoting voluntary compliance.
- Preparing reports and maintaining accurate records of investigations.
- Issuing warnings, notices, or tickets when necessary.
This position is casual and on-call, with hours of work scheduled as needed. It can be ideal for someone seeking flexible work that contributes to community safety and well-being.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in enforcement, security, law, or municipal work is an asset, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- MBLEO certification or willingness to obtain certification (training provided).
Details
· Wage rate $30.00 per hour
· Travel time paid plus mileage
· Union position - CUPE Local 65
