Rainy River has a full spectrum of healthcare services.
Rainy River Health Centre has a full-service Emergency Department offering 24-hour care on a daily basis, in addition to diagnostics, in-patient, rehabilitation, counselling and other healthcare options. An emergency physician is on call seven days a week.
Riverside Health Care is a fully accredited multi-site, multi-faceted health care system providing service to the Rainy River District in spectacular Northwestern Ontario. Our health care sites across the western portion of the district serve a catchment area of more than 20,000 residents across 4.7 million acres in Fort Frances, Emo and Rainy River.
A health-care hub that spans the district, Riverside is an integral piece of a growing health landscape in our communities, providing inclusive and accessible service to all residents and visitors.
The DRRSB provides housing, Ontario Works, children’s, and paramedic services in the Rainy River District. They also administer the social housing facilities in Rainy River:
- Assisted Living – Riverview Manor
- Rent Geared -to-Income Apartments – Heritage House
- District of Rainy River Services Board
The NWHU is a public health agency that promotes healthy lifestyles and longer, well lived lives in northwestern Ontario. It offers clinics, classes, events, and news on various health topics and issues.
The NWHU also manages the Community Garden.
The Rainy River Medical Clinic operates a general practice medical clinic which offers timely access to high quality primary care such as:
- Providing access to other health care professionals
- Coordinating documentation if patient receives care from a member of the team
- Offering primary health care including but not limited to:
- Chronic disease management
- Disease prevention
- Health promotion
- Nutritional counselling
