Custodian Contract

 

The Corporation of the Town of Rainy River is seeking interested parties to provide quotes to perform custodian duties for the Municipal Office, the Municipal Public Works Garage and the Rainy River Health Clinic.

The successful contractor will be required to sign a (2 year) contract with the Town for provisions of services.

The contract will include:

  1. All staff must be able to provide a clear criminal records check prior to entering any municipal facility
  2. The Town will provide paper products, cleaning solutions and ice-melter
  3. A fee schedule with an hourly rate to be provided for additional services (start-up of camp ground washrooms, washroom for screen for life van, dental van, eye van)
  4. Successful contractor to provide a minimum of $2 million liability insurance
  5. Contractor to carry WSIB coverage for all staff
  6. A detailed listing of duties will be provided

Casual Municipal By-Law Enforcement Officer (MBLEO)
The Town of Rainy River is seeking a Casual Municipal By-Law Enforcement Officer (MBLEO) to assist with the enforcement of municipal by-laws on an as-needed basis.
About the Role
Reporting to the CAO/Clerk, the MBLEO is responsible for:
• Investigating complaints regarding municipal by-laws (e.g., parking, property standards, animal control, etc.).
• Educating residents on by-law requirements and promoting voluntary compliance.
• Preparing reports and maintaining accurate records of investigations.
• Issuing warnings, notices, or tickets when necessary.
This position is casual and on-call, with hours of work scheduled as needed. It can be ideal for someone seeking flexible work that contributes to community safety and well-being.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in enforcement, security, law, or municipal work is an asset, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
• Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• MBLEO certification or willingness to obtain certification (training provided).

• Travel time paid plus mileage

RFP 26-01

Hannam Park Addition

The Corporation of the Town of Rainy River is seeking interested parties to provide sealed tenders to perform work to complete an addition at Hannam Park for a Stipulated Price contract in accordance with Contract Documents.

 

The Town of Rainy River is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for the construction of the public restrooms located at Hannam Park. The scope of this addition includes the construction of all-season restrooms to ensure year-round accessibility and comfort for park users, as well as ensuring that the restrooms are fully accessible to individuals with disabilities.

 

Hannam Park is a popular public space, and the restrooms are a key component of the park's amenities. The municipality seeks to improve the functionality, accessibility, and overall experience for all users, including those with mobility challenges.

 

The lowest or any tender submission may not necessarily be accepted.  Firms submitting a tender shall be aware that this is a public process and under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act R.S.O. 1990.

 

Bids, fully executed and dated, will be received before and not later                                             than 2:30 pm CST, on May 19th 2026.

Bids shall only be received via sealed envelope or electronic bid.
